Recruitment: Men get on their bikes to promote childcare work

Children at the Violet Melchett Children's Centre in Chelsea, London, last week helped Magic 105.4 radio presenter Neil Fox (pictured) to promote the Government's early years recruitment campaign.

The campaign by the Department for Children, Schools and Families,'Working in Early Years: It's not just child's play', is aimed atencouraging more people, and men in particular, to consider a career inchildcare. It is hoped it will help fill the thousands of jobs createdby the expansion of the sector.

Mr Fox spent the morning reading with children, creating homemadeplaydough and supervising trike races on the roof terrace garden.

Father of three Mr Fox said, 'The time I spend with my children, playingwith them and reading them stories, is without a doubt the best part ofmy day. It will be a start for men to put it on their radar.'
