1. Sit with the baby on your lap, so that they can gaze easily into your face. Hold the baby's comfort toy within the baby's arms and gently lay the blanket over both of you.

2. Sing hello to the baby, stroking their cheek gently as you sing their name.

3. Switch on the lamp and music, or light and sound musical toy. Place this where it can easily be seen by the baby, at their eye level. Tap the light to draw attention to it, and sing 'Hello baby, hello name, hello baby, let's look, let's look, let's look.'
