Delegates from childcare organisations, charities and Government bodies met at the third roundtable event hosted by Westminster Children's Society last week to discuss how providers could receive greater recognition and financial support for the services they provide in addition to daycare, such as employing parents and lowering fees for poorer families.
WCS chief executive June O'Sullivan said, 'We need to change the way we are defined. We need to be perceived as contributing to social justice and community cohesion in addition to being a nursery. A network will give us a coherent voice, and our power as a group will be greater than that of individual settings.'
