Position: Training for EYPS, Bexton Pre-School Nursery in Knutsford, Cheshire
- Why did you embark on training to be an EYP?
My manager suggested I continue to further my professional development and do the long pathway at Chester University. For me, doing the course is really more about empowerment, to be able to use my existing skills and to lead and support other practitioners while raising standards.
- How will your training benefit the setting?
I hope to provide forward-thinking ideas and keep new practices up to date at the pre-school, while continuing to provide an exciting learning environment. In particular, I want to expand on my interest in promoting in the children a love of craft and nature.
- How long have you worked at pre-school?
I started working at the setting last September on a supply basis, after a career break to raise my two children. I made the move to early years, as I thought the skills and experience I gained during my nine years of teaching could be useful in a pre-school setting.
