Position: Nursery assistant at Fennies Under-Fives nursery in Beckenham, Kent
- How did you feel about winning the Fennies chain's apprenticeship award?
I was overwhelmed and honoured that my colleagues had noticed how dedicated I am to my job. I never thought I would win the award, being up against other apprentices from the different nurseries in the group.
- How long have you worked at the nursery?
I started at the setting last March and am currently doing my NVQ Level 3. I've always had a passion for working with children, so a job in a nursery is ideal.
- What are your future plans?
I hope to eventually become a primary school teacher, which will mean either starting as a teaching assistant or going to university to study.
