Position: Lead practitioner at Nutkins Nursery in Cleveleys, Lancashire
- Were you surprised to be chosen as the winner of the 2010 Children's Stars award for Early Years Practitioner of the Year?
I was flabbergasted and knocked off my feet. I was up against two others. I don't know why I was chosen as the winner - I guess it could be because of my bubbly personality and how natural I am with the children.
- How long have you been at the nursery for?
I've been at Nutkins for three years now and was appointed lead practitioner last year. Before starting here I worked at another nursery after completing my A-Levels. I am now working towards EYP Status.
- What's the highlight of your job?
It's seeing the children flourish and grow. I'm very hands-on and always playing with the children, getting covered in bruises and mud!
