Position: Manager at Peartree Children's Centre in Bromsgrove, Worcester
- Why are you running the London marathon on 26 April?
It has always been an ambition of mine to run the marathon before turning 40 next year. I will be raising money for Barnardo's whose children's centres I have worked in for the last two years.
- How have you prepared for the event?
In the past I have done two half-marathons and a 10km run, but nothing like this. I have been training for the last four months with the help of a trainer at my gym who compiled an exercise plan. My aim is to run the marathon in under five hours, which would be ideal, but it depends on the conditions on the day. The support from my colleagues, family and friends has been overwhelming.
- Would you consider doing something like this again?
I would like to take part in the Moon Walk for Breast Cancer next and possibly do a triathlon after taking a short break. It's good to do things that challenge and push you.
