- Tell us about the Ugandan school for children with HIV and why youdecided to raise money for it.
I heard about the school through my local church. The school, built forchildren with HIV who are turned away by other schools, has over 100pupils and no permanent building. After hearing that no one was helpingthe school, I decided to get involved.
- How have you helped the school?
We started fundraising in July 2007, at coffee mornings at nursery andevening events. We have paid for the walls and roof of a new schoolbuilding and set up a fund for children to have school meals.
- What future events do you have planned?
Local artist Angela Davidson, whose son attended the nursery, has kindlydonated an original pastel drawing to be raffled in December. By the endof the year we hope to have raised a total of 7,000 to pay forwindows, seats and desks for the school.
