Training organisation Confident to Work is offering training to support parents to work.
With a new requirement, from next year, for parents on income support to start seeking work when their child is five, this training will become increasingly valuable for family support, outreach workers and other practitioners.
A one-day course in London, Advisor Training, covers the legislative changes and what they mean for parents. It provides case studies of get-back-to-work projects and looks at how children's centres and extended schools can help empower parents.
Two-day course Training the Trainers (5-6 April) highlights how to facilitate groups and deliver training sessions. Attendees can get to grips with different learning and training styles, and develop ways to engage parents.
