Activities included mask-making and designing and building musical instruments. Local group Global Fusion Music and Arts organised performances and workshops showcasing African dancing, drumming and acrobatics, and parents provided traditional homemade food.
The centre, part of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, organised the event, sponsored by local housing association Charlton Triangle Homes.
Centre co-ordinator Mona Naqvi said, 'It was just one of those things where everything clicked together.
