A giant baby descended on London for an outdoor theatre event about parents with learning disabilities.

Eva, a mechanical, moving ‘baby’, was installed in Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park in Southwark for a joint family event by Mind the Gap and Walk the Plank.

The production called Zara (named after the baby's mother) draws on true stories from learning disabled parents, with research conducted by Mind the Gap and Royal Holloway, University of London. Around 7 per cent of people with a learning disability are parents, but advocacy groups estimate that 90 per cent with a learning disability have their children removed from them.

With a cast of more than 100 people, the play, which was also performed in Halifax, aimed to raise awareness of the issue with a show that included giant puppetry, 3D projections and music.
