The Big Picture: Early language skills in action

The minister for children and families, Edward Timpson MP, visited Stonegrove Children's Centre in Edgware, Barnet to celebrate the progress made by children and their families through the Early Language Development Programme (ELDP).

The children's centre was one of the first settings to take part in the programme being run by the Early Language Consortium, led by I CAN.

Launched in November 2011, the two-and-a-half year programme aims to support the foundations of good communication development in young children.

Mr Timpson and Matthew Offord, MP for Hendon, joined local families attending the regular stay and play session at the children's centre.
