A programme of events for children and families has been designed to mark National Marine Week 2019.
Celebrations organised by The Wildlife Trusts will run from 27 July to 11 August to take advantage of the tides.
Events include rockpool rambles, dolphin and whale watching and seashore safaris, and will be accompanied by colourful seaside spotter guides and activity sheets.
The Wildlife Trusts will also be relaunching citizen science project Shoresearch, asking volunteers to monitor marine life on UK shores.
Joan Edwards, director of Living Seas at The Wildlife Trusts, said, ‘The seas around the UK deserve their own celebration. Every summer, millions of people are drawn to the coast and are delighted by the wildlife they can see there.’
