Children are learning mindfulness and meditation at an early age in Reading, thanks to regular sessions with ‘Meditation Mike’.
Pictured are three- and four-year-olds meditating at Battle Primary Academy with Mike Sarson, the founder of East West Kids Connect.
The project teaches children mediation techniques to help them get in touch with their emotions and manage their behaviour, including distraction, anxiety and anger.
The course started with primary-age children but has expanded to include the early years. Teachers report it to be helpful for children with behavioural problems, who find it enjoyable and calming.
Mike is also running free family workshops at the World Yoga Festival at Beale Park, Berkshire, on 29-31 July. Visit www.eastwestkidsconnect.org.uk
