The money, which was donated to the charity Inspiring Scotland, will be used to establish a social investment fund and create new social enterprises to run the nurseries.
With just 18 fully outdoor nurseries currently in Scotland, the fund will help up to 3,000 more children access outdoor play and learning over a five-year period, concentrating on disadvantaged areas with limited or no outdoor nursery provision.
Initially, the fund will select five charities to set up as social enterprises to run the nurseries.
The closing date for applications is 12 July 2019.
