London Fire Brigade has joined forces with toy-maker Playmobil to teach children about fire safety and celebrate its 150th anniversary, kicking off with a launch at Soho Fire Station.
Children will have the chance to see vintage fire engines and meet life-sized Playmobil firefighters and their real-life counterparts in a series of free open days across the capital.
London Fire Brigade versions of Playmobil toy sets have been designed, with 10 per cent of the proceeds donated to charities.
London fire commissioner Rob Dobson said, ‘The 65 open days are a great opportunity for people to celebrate our birthday and interact with firefighters who do so much work to protect London every day.’
