Theatre in Schools Scotland, a three-year pilot touring theatre and dance productions, is taking performances to nurseries for the first time.
The Attic (pictured) has been specially designed for young children by arts and early years organisation Starcatchers. Set to a live piano score, it explores the relationship between a girl and her grandmother as they rummage through boxes where memories are stored.
Rhona Matheson, chief executive of Starcatchers, said, ‘We know how powerful children’s responses can be to a range of artistic experiences and that the positive impact goes beyond the moment of the performance.
‘We’re are so delighted that Theatre in Schools has extended its reach to include younger children.’
