An adventurous exhibition showing the journey of scrap materials from manufacture to children’s play resources has launched in Bristol.

‘The Story of Scrap’ displays photos taken by A-level students at Patchway Community College, explaining how local charity Children’s Scrapstore adapts manufacturing waste into play equipment, which is distributed via its PlayPods scheme.
The exhibition focuses on the donated off-cuts from hot-air balloon maker Cameron Balloons. Students photoed the making of a balloon at the firm’s Bristol factory, travelled to Children’s Scrapstore’s warehouse to see how the materials are processed, and visited a school to see children play with the end results.
The exhibition will be at the Engine Shed in Bristol Temple Meads until 28 June.
