The Big Picture - Teddies in space

Families
Young children and their teddies have been invited to a special event at the National Space Centre in Leicester.

Small Space Teddy Bear Day on 9 September will see the centre closed to groups and schools, allowing its youngest visitors to explore the exhibition freely, accompanied by their cuddly toys.

Activities will include storytime, craft sessions including designing paper plate polar bears, sing-a-long time, a bear awards ceremony, dress-up sessions as scientists, astronauts and aliens, and planetarium shows.

Charlie Isham, education manager at the National Space Centre, said, ‘Our Small Space Teddy Bear Day is a fun and interesting way for our youngest visitors to explore the world through play.’
