The curriculum and religion

New research is seeking to understand the processes by which parents withdraw their children from parts of the curriculum for religious reasons.

Many teachers and headteachers will encounter parents wishing their children to be withdrawn from assemblies (collective worship), from religious education classes, and sometimes from other parts of the curriculum for religious reasons.

A short survey being run by Liverpool Hope University aims to understand this process, and how it is handled by schools across the country.

The data will inform a RE Council Commission report and policy recommendations. You will not be asked for any information identifying either you or your school.
