The nursery group is one of 226 organisations nationally to receive the award for excellence in sustainable development in recognition of its move to be mindful of the environment and challenge industry norms, for instance in tackling the range of disposable and one-use plastics used in settings.
Cosy Direct, a supplier of sustainable nursery and educational equipment has won the same award.
Tops Day Nurseries’ founder and managing director Cheryl Hadland said, ‘We are truly delighted and proud to achieve this award, despite suffering the crippling impact of Covid, and even worse, the underfunding of early years provision in this country in recent years.
