Wash your hands

You can reinforce important messages about personal hygiene while helping to develop children's letter recognition, says Claire Dawson. Planned learning intentions.

* To manage their own personal hygiene

* To read a range of familiar and common words and simple sentences independently

Resources.

* Camera (we used a digital) * colourful card * white paper * marker pen

Step by step.

* Take clear photographs of each stage of a child washing his hands and draw up accompanying instructions. We used:

* Put the plug in the sink.

* Turn the tap on and fill sink with water.

* Turn the tap off.

* Take the soap and wash your hands.
