Part two of this project focuses on exploring the concept of 'wet and dry'

through imaginative ideas and role play. Role play can offer children opportunities to draw on and extend their own experiences as they develop understanding in other areas of the curriculum. As in part one, there is an emphasis on outdoor learning and on active involvement.

Approach

Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage (page 11) emphasises the importance of providing children with a balance of adult-led and child-initiated learning. This project:

* identifies adult-led activities to introduce or develop children's understanding of the topic through stimulating, meaningful experiences which offer challenge.
