To do a degree, the university usually asks for A-levels, GCSEs, experience etc. So what is your guess for the childcare degree? NVQ3 or equivalent maybe? Post-qualifying experience? Wrong! An NVQ 2 and the experience of achieving it. We have the same people now going through the degree programme as the NVQ programme! We can chuck the NVQ/NNEB/BTec out of the window and just roll everyone out on to degrees. The degree means no more to me than someone with an NVQ. I will deem them as having the same qualification and pay them no more.
