Editor's view get ready for the revised EYFS

Only three months to go - so make sure you're prepared for the launch of the new EYFS

The implementation of the revised Early Years Foundation Stage is racing towards us, so it's imperative for all early years providers to be well prepared.

As ever, NurseryWorld is here to help. Following on from our fantastically well-received EYFS Guide, published last month, we're busy working on lots more information and advice from top experts in the sector.

With this issue, you'll find the latest edition of our Nursery Equipment supplement, with a focus on the new Prime area of Physical Development.

This area of learning, in particular, is one that early years practitioners may need support for, as there is relatively little agreed best practice compared to Communication and Language or Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

Nursery Equipment will give you a good start in providing an Enabling Environment in respect of physical development, with advice on activities and resources across all the main aspects.

The Prime areas will then be a major theme for Nursery World up to the September EYFS launch and beyond, with substantial guides to each area for under-threes and three to fives, plus a parent's guide to match.

Also in this issue, we begin a new series on supervision, which has been given an enhanced status in the revised framework. We're delighted that this is being written by Pen Green Research Base, which is also leading the early years teaching centre programme.

Look out for daily news on Nursery World's website too, at www.nurseryworld.co.uk, and you'll really keep up to speed!
