Reaching out to those who need us most

Those of us on the front line need to be mindful that it's often the families in most need who don't ask for help, says Paul Ringer

New research, which we launched this week, paints a picture of young families struggling, parents feeling increasingly concerned about their children’s well-being, and a feeling that they aren’t always able to access the help they need.

According to our Parent Report*, when asked about the three issues they are most concerned about for their children, either now or in the future, almost half of parents said they worry their children have low self-esteem or are unhappy (46 per cent); while 42 per cent think there is little to no support available from statutory, community or voluntary services to help with family challenges.
