
Childcare and education minister Sam Gyimah MP will be delivering the keynote speech at the forum, which be attended by policymakers from central and local government.
Early years provision in England is changing rapidly. Free childcare for three- and four-year-olds of working parents from 2017. Schools are being encouraged to deliver early education to children as young as two. The Government has introduced a range of measures to enable, and incentivise, schools and early years settings to work more closely together to provide a seamless, blended childcare offer for parents.
The event will highlight innovative models of shared care, and consider how schools and early years providers can work together to deliver high quality early education and care that both meets the practical needs of families and enables children to flourish.
The forum will be chaired by PACEY's chief executive, Liz Bayram. Other speakers include Dr Julian Grenier, Headteacher, Sheringham Nursery School and Children's Centre, Newham, London; Ruth Pimentel, Chief Executive, Toad Hall Nursery Group; Sarah Lambert, Development Manager, Blackpool Centre for Early Child Development and Judy Shaw, National Association of Head Teachers.
