What used to be known as the 'Third World' is now commonly called the 'Majority World'. People within these developing countries account for the vast majority of the world's population, yet their lives are still captured mainly through the lenses of 'western' photographers.
The images in this series come from the Majority World photographic agency, which features the work of 'local' photographers within developing countries. Free from stereotype, these images provide 'unique insights into local cultures [and] contemporary lifestyles'. Both artistic and informative, the photographs provide an excellent resource that will engage young children's curiosity and give them a greater understanding of the world in which they are growing up.
Our poster shows children engaged naturally in their play in Nepal, Brazil, Bangladesh and Peru.
