Children at Shepherd Lodge in Lancashire helped harvest the pumpkins they grew from seeds in the nursery’s allotment.
Nursery manager Lynsey Broughton said, ‘The allotment provides such a wonderful learning experience, with the local community being involved too. They go on daily visits helping with the upkeep and learning where their food comes from.’
The nursery has also organised other autumnal activities for the children in its care, including sensory play involving leaves and produce.
