The discussion features two ECTs (first year and second year) as well as an experienced mentor. We touch upon common challenges for new teachers and the biggest challenges so far this term as well as advice for ECTs across key areas including SEND, work/life balance & workload, lesson-planning, differentiation, self-care/wellbeing and more.
We look at coaching and mentoring: What are the essentials to make this support effective? How can ECTs to get the most from their mentors? We also discuss the new Early Career Framework including any notable challenges and end the discussion with some recommendations for further reading and other support.
