Enormouse by Angie Morgan

Frances Lincoln, hardback, £11.99

Enormouse is big and lives happily with his little mouse friends until one day they see a photograph of a rat and realise that Enormouse is not one of 'them'. Hurt by their laughter at him and feeling like he doesn't belong, Enormouse sets off in search of fellow rats. But unlike the Mouse House, the rats' home is smelly and messy. Finally, Enormouse realises what he must do - return to his mouse friends where he truly does belong.

This story has been told many times through various picture books, but it is well told and appealing with this cast of characters.
