TEN LITTLE FINGERS AND TEN LITTLE TOES.

Written by Mem Fox, illustrated by Helen Oxenbury

Walker Books, £10.99

This is a celebration of babies around the world that focuses on their differences (of where they live) and their one great similarity - their ten little fingers and ten little toes, to play with, to tickle, to wave. A wonderful addition to any nursery's collection of books for the very young.

HIDDEN HIPPO

by Joan Gannij and Clare Beaton

Barefoot Books, £10.99

Told from the perspective of a child on safari, Hidden Hippo takes the reader on a journey through the grasslands of Africa to encounter creatures such as elephants, giraffes and zebras. But the animal to look out for is the hippo, and finally with a loud splash, you find him! The book is suitable for older children within the EYFS, but the rhyming text and felt applique illustrations will definitely appeal to the very young.

OTTO'S TRIP TO THE MOON

by Katherine Lodge

Bloomsbury, £7.99

The first in a new 'Seriously Cute' series featuring Chip (a monkey), Otto (a puppy) and Missy (a cat). In this adventure, Chip and Missy give Otto a rocket for his birthday. The three set off to picnic on the moon and are back in time for bed. The tabs work well with the illustrations.
