A little pig and a baby princess inadvertently swap places. So, the princess grows up with a poor but loving farmer and his wife, while the pig lives a life of royal excess. Both families believe the transformation of piglet and princess is the work of fairies because 'it's the sort of thing that happens all the while in books'. But turning to fairytales to explain events is't always advisable. Yes, the princess was swapped as in The Prince and The Pauper but pity the poor prince assured that a single kiss will transform his piglet bride into a beautiful princess.
