Enabling children to be confident in speaking and listening is a core responsibility of any teacher, but many find it a tough subject to tackle. This book is most definitely aimed at teachers of school-age children and much will need to be refocused through an early years lens. As a framework, though, it is excellent, with plenty of good ideas for practice including chapters on drama and role play and the relationship between speaking and listening and reading and writing development.
