Fellows are funded to travel for four to eight weeks researching innovative ideas and best practice in a practical subject of their own choosing. The average grant is £6,000.
The topics the education fellows will cover range from teaching controversial histories to professional development for new teachers, to e-learning, and more.
Winners for 2019 include Paul Middleton, a teacher from St Albans, who will travel to Switzerland, Finland and Singapore to explore approaches to supporting new teachers’ wellbeing.
Meanwhile Heba Al-Jayoosi, an assistant head from London, will travel to the USA to explore approaches to including autistic students in mainstream education, and academy group leader Howard Nelson will travel to Canada to investigate how small, rural schools can become sustainable.
Details of the other winners are available online and the next round of applications for the Fellowships will open on May 16.
