Diary of an NQT: From trainee to trainer

Coming back after half-term was a bit of a shock to the system. For a whole week I forgot about school, marking, data, feedback and all other school-based things. It was glorious.

However, I definitely regretted my laid-back week the moment I realised (on the Sunday night) that I had to return to school. Books were frantically marked and lessons hurriedly planned for Monday’s full day of teaching.

Although the morning was stressful, by lunchtime I had fallen back into normal school life and had almost forgotten that I’d had a week off. My body had forgotten how tiring a school day was and I was asleep by 8:30pm that evening.
