Diary of an NQT: Getting to grips with form time

Having had her first tutor group thrust upon her just before half-term, our NQT diarist is now trying to get to grips with this different side of the teacher’s role

As things turned out, I didn’t quite manage to get through my week without stressing over the student teacher who I am supporting, but I didn’t do too badly.

Having to tell her that she needed to completely replan a lesson the night before it was due to be taught because the activities did not relate at all to the GCSE was not a highlight of my week. I’m sure it was more stressful for her though!

Other than that, the week since half-term has gone fairly smoothly. Having marked A LOT of books over half-term, I have had a pleasantly stress-free week in that regard.
